Coach Michael Wright caught his sixth straight race at the Tampa Bay Downs Sunday when More opportunities (Spin hard) won the third race at the Oldsmar oval. The record also includes a win with 15-1 bystanders Red Nantucket (Get Stormy) in Wayward Lass S. Saturday.
“When you put them in the right race, that’s all that matters,” said Wright, who has coached Scotzanna, a two-time Sovereign Award winner.
Wright will attempt seven in a row in Wednesday’s eighth race with 6-year-old gelding Victor’s Destiny (Soup Speedy).
In 1977, when the track was known as the Florida Downs, coach ET Clark won a record nine straight starts from January 28 to February 4.
