Glitch’s Future of Play Direct is back for the third year, delivering multiple first skins, premieres, and launch announcements for multiple games. Live, hosted by V-TV broadcaster Melios, introduced new trailers that feature a variety of genres and unique bases. Here’s what stands out for us.
Boyfriend Dungeon: Secret Weapons
This dungeon crawler and dating sim is officially out last year and comes with the promise of a free update complete with a new dungeon and love interests. Well, we finally took a look. The new trailer introduced us to Hammer Laleh, who has a special ability known as a “spiral of death”. Ax Johan, who we briefly met in the main game, is also returning to win our hearts. No wonder his dungeon special ability is “swing”. We also met a believable villain: the whip-wielding Dr. Holmes, who looked as scary as she sounded. Dr. Holmes has been accepted by the former director of Ghostwire: Tokyo Ikumi Nakamura, and is voiced by Twitch streamer Loserfruit. The fun changes this summer on Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PC.
Hill Agency: Purity / Rottenness
The announcement trailer for this cyber detective game caught our attention because of its unique premise. As PI Maygeen Hill, you take on a simple case of a murdered girl that leads you to a pile of intrigue and deception in the corrupted utopia of the Resurrection City. Using your investigative skills, you must search for the truth, interview suspects and find clues to get answers. Hill Agency: Purity / Decay launches on August 31 for PC.
Creature Keeper
We’ve been eyeing this adorable monster taming game with a classic aesthetic for a while now. In it, you fight alongside creatures you’ve befriended in real time. To make your team stronger, you cook them delicious food, craft jewelry and earn power-ups through your pocket garden. The trailer shown at Future of Play provided an in-depth look at some of the monsters you’ll tame along your journey, including bats, frogs, birds, wolves, etc. Creature Keep is attacking PC and console, but no official release date has been set yet.
Psychroma
A tense and strange Summary debuts for this narrative-driven side-scrolling where you play as a digital medium. You must confront the past by piecing together corrupted memories of a cybernetic house. Oh, and chase away the ghosts in the machine. The story looks compelling, but the cold structure really shines through. You know of any game that tells you to get out of the house as quickly as possible to get something sinister in the store. Overall, it looks pretty good. Currently, Psychroma is only available on PC.
Love Shore
Today, at Future of Play, we finally have a release date and platform announcement for visual novels. Love Shore is set in a cyberpunk metropolis where gods, cyborgs and humans fight and fall in love. You make choices that can consider someone your ally or enemy. You can play as Sam or Farah, who are learning a lot about themselves as well as about the dark secrets of the city. Love Shore features an all-LGBT+ cast with eight romance characters. Expect multiple endings and different routes to play depending on your choices. Love Shore officially launches on October 22 for PC and Xbox.
Organizational units
OU’s pen art style was an instant hit and Future of Play gave us a new intro to see more. OU awakens in a world without memories. His only guide is a tailed beast with a flaming tail named Zarry. However, OU is facing more than just dementia, as a ghost, who looks like him, haunts him at every turn. All of the characters OU encounters are there to change the story and how it ends, meaning his interactions with them are probably quite significant. OU will debut on PC and Switch this year.
