Sister To R. Kelly claims he was the only victim who was “lied”

R. Kelly’s sisters spoke out about their brother’s recent 30-year sentence for sexually abusing women, girls and boys for decades. In an interview with Good morning England, The sisters Claim the sole victim is R. Kelly. They pointed to racism as a factor in his conviction, denied evidence of his involvement with underage girls, and even labeled known victims as “gall”.

Reporter Noah Phillips revealed that R. Kelly believes “the color of his skin” influenced his sentence, according to letters written from his cell. His sister Cassandra Kelly refuted these claims in the interview.

“African Americans have always been treated unfairly and so I think that has a lot to do with this issue as well as other factors,” said Cassandra Kelly.

Lisa Kelly later backed Cassandra’s claim that, “Just because he’s found guilty doesn’t mean he’s guilty.” When Noah asked if the sisters would accept R. Kelly’s wrongdoing, Lisa switched the question. Instead, she emphasized that no one is perfect and commented on the extent of the accusations.

“None of us are perfect,” says Lisa. “But at the level of what they are saying, taking someone hostage and these women being treated like queens, I don’t believe it. That doesn’t add up. Robert doesn’t have to take anyone hostage. Women come to him because of his status and who he is.”

Noel next asked if they really believed that their brother didn’t hang out with girls younger than them. Once again, Lisa answered the question on behalf of herself and her two sisters.

“I would say he may have dated younger women, but underage girls… not,” Lisa said. “And I emphasize underage girls. Who saw that? “

Noah countered Lisa’s point by saying that prosecutors proved R. Kelly married Aaliyah when she was 15 years old. Lisa denied knowing anything about it and declined to comment further.

She said R. Kelly was “The Only Victim”

Reporters filmed what the victim had to say about R. Kelly – especially physical and sexual abuse and hostage situations. Lisa succinctly replied that, “a lot of the alleged victims are very bitter.” After a few minutes of commenting, Noah again urged the victims, asking if Lisa could acknowledge them.

“I won’t admit to something that I don’t have proof of, if there’s a victim, I’ll admit it,” Lisa said. “But from what I’ve seen in court, and from what I’ve researched, and from what I’ve read, the only victim I’ve seen who has been robbed, lied to, is Robert.”

Lisa then wrote down a list of topics she said nobody talked about, including the alleged multimillion-dollar theft from Kelly.

“He’s supposed to be a monster and he’s not a monster,” Lisa said. “He is not a pedophile. He was just taken advantage of.”

R. Kelly faces additional charges in Chicago this August

In July, officials moved Kelly to Chicago from New York. He face the charges for the production of child pornography, child sex trafficking, receipt of child pornography, and conspiracy to commit fraud, according to Newsweek.

While Lisa tries to go after Robert, Cassandra seems to show some sympathy for the victims at the end of the interview.

“…I was in an abusive relationship so I really understood where they were coming from and I didn’t take down any of the alleged victims,” Cassandra said. “I hope that everyone is involved in the period of recovery and healing. But the Robert I met and got to know was the complete opposite.”
