Simplified breezes at Gulfstream
Tami Bobo’s Simplify (Not this time) was wrapped in five tubes at 1:01.83 a.m. Friday at Gulfstream Park in preparation for a scheduled warm-up at the May 7 GI Kentucky Derby. It was the first to win the GII Fasig-Tipton Fountain. of Youth S. since finishing third in HOLD Curlin The Florida Derby April 2.
Junior Alvarado was on board with ease, sub to driver Jose Ortiz.
“He galloped out six stretches in 1:15.3, seven stretches in 1:27 and one mile in 1:40,” said coach Antonio Sano. “Smart. I’m very happy with my horse. He went very easily and came back well.”
Simplified is expected to operate the next two Fridays at Gulfstream before shipping to Churchill Downs on April 29.
