Shooting at the Las Vegas hookah lobby leaves 14 people shot, 1 dead
Las Vegas police say fourteen people were injured by gunfire, including one who died, in an early Saturday morning shooting at a hookah lounge.
Captain Dori Koren of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said at a news conference Saturday that police believe there was an altercation between at least two men while a party was taking place in the lounge. .
“The suspects are currently prominent, but I assure you they will be caught,” Koren said, adding that police believe there is currently no threat to the public.
Koren said police still don’t know how many people opened fire, but believe there was an exchange of guns between at least two people.
Of the injured, two are in critical condition, police said on Saturday.
The shooting happened around 3:15 a.m., when police received multiple reports of gunfire in the hookah lobby. Koren commends first responders for helping injured victims by applying a tourniquet.
“My thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones and all those injured in last night’s senseless shooting at a hookah lounge. We must do more to end gun violence. bullets”, Congressman Dina Titus, D-Nev., speak.
