Shift focus! Research shows that prostate cancer does NOT always have urinary symptoms
A study published by a team at the University of Cambridge shares that focusing on urinary symptoms can be misleading when diagnosing prostate cancer.
Vincent Gnanapragasam, professor of urology at the university, explains: “When most people think of symptoms of prostate cancer, they think of the problem of urinating or having to urinate more often, especially is at night.
He added: “This misconception has been going on for decades, despite the lack of evidence and it potentially prevents us from taking in cases at an early stage.
Furthermore, a recent study went as far as to say that no symptoms or lack of urinary symptoms may in fact signal a higher risk of cancer.
