Although Shay doesn’t say she’s bisexual, she has been open about being attracted to women in the past. Finally, she PLL costar Ian Harding asked her the last time she was attracted to a woman, in a YouTube video. “Oh. Every day.” she replied. “For me, it was never ‘I need to find a boyfriend, I need to find this. I really feel like I fell in love with someone. “
She also mentioned her attraction to women when talking about her PLL character Emily, part of the LGBTQ+ community, in a 2017 interview with Maxim. “People always ask me, ‘Do you play a gay character? Are you gay? Are you straight? Are you this? She said at the time. “Listen, Emily doesn’t label herself, and I don’t label myself either. I love someone’s spirit. Love is love, and that is what I will continue to say. “
To this day, her love life is still there, Shay used to be in a relationship with her boyfriend Matte Babel since 2017 and they have two children, map2 and 4 months old Roman, together. She shared first photo of her youngest child in June and revealed that she named the infant after her late grandmother, Romainewho died in the same year as her birthday.
