Shakur Stevenson Talking George Kambosos next for March or April

Via Chris Williams: Shakur Stevenson could debut at 135 in March or April against unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr.

Shakur complained 24/7 about Pitbull Cruz and William Zepeda, for refusing to fight for over a month. Stevenson overstated the fact that Pitbull and Zepeda wouldn’t fight him.

Shakur mentioned it the first time it was okay, but wouldn’t let it go. It’s almost like listening to an old person who can’t accept the bad decisions they made when they were young.

You would think that Stevenson would now move on mentally and not continue to wallow in the past.

It was not a good sign as Shakur was still snooping on two large fish that had left. He has to be bigger than this and move on when there’s no interest.

“I should be back in March, maybe even April. Maybe Kambosos because Pitbull rejected meand [William] Zepeda rejected me. I know from the leaderboard that Kambosos is next, so I think it’s going to be a Kambosos fight,” Shakur Stevenson told. fight TV center.

“I think the fans and people allow them to dodge. I don’t think anyone is really above them in the way that if I did something like that or Devin or anyone in the sport.

“I think Kambosos has nothing to lose. I think he will be the first to join the fight. He’s tough; he doesn’t mind fighting Teo, he doesn’t mind fighting Devin, so I don’t think he would back down from a challenge.”

If Stevenson wants fighters like Cruz and Zepeda to fight him, then he has to become a superstar so those guys will make a lot of money fighting him.

The way to do that is to make Shakur a more interesting fighter and take the opportunity to attack. Unfortunately, Stevenson has an ugly ‘pull back’ fighting style, he constantly backs away to avoid getting hit. It’s boring to watch.

Undefeated Stevenson (19-0.9 KOs) said he believes Kambosos Jr (20-2, 10 KOs) will agree to the match because he has “nothing left to lose” at this point after was beaten in close combat against Devin Haney in 2022.

Shakur, 25, was visibly upset last Saturday night, talking about his efforts at battling against the highest ranked lightweight opponents Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz and William Zepeda was unsuccessful.

Both fighters showed no interest in taking on former two-division world champion Stevenson, prompting him to turn to his third pick, Kambosos.

Stevenson’s defensive fighting style will make it difficult for Pitbull Cruz and Zepeda as these are offensive fighters who use a lot of pressure to win fights.

If Shakur can take on the Kambosos, it’s still an excellent match, as the former three-belt champion is renowned in his native Australia and the United States.
