Shakur Stevenson About Gervonta Davis: “He’s So Small I Can Never Lose To A Dwarf”

Via Allan Fox: Shakur Stevenson & Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis exchanged words Friday on social media. WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion Tank (27-0.25 KOs) was supportive when told by an interviewer that he believes Devin Haney and Shakur will beat him.

Former two-division world champion Shakur (19-0, 9 KOs), who has now risen to 135, points out that Tank is conveniently talking trash at this point because he has two fights up schedule against Hector Luis Garcia and Ryan Garcia.

When Shakur was asked about fighting Tank, he said that he “too little” and that he will never be defeated by a “Shorty.”

Of course, if it’s true that Tank Davis beats Stevenson better in fencing, then that suggests that Shakur’s height advantage won’t help him.

Tank says he “cracked” Shakur & Haney in the confrontation

“You are right about the last one. That’s the only one who can beat me. Gervonta Davis. The only one,” said Tank Davis Increase Podcasts saying that the only people who can beat him are Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney and himself.

“They couldn’t touch me at all. Surname [Shakur & Haney] They’re all in the ring with me, and I’ve cracked both. He [Devin] didn’t get my best. He didn’t get the best of me.

“I sparring him twice. Devin’s father took him out of the ring. I almost knocked him out in Floyd’s gym. Did they tell you that?” Gervonta said.

Ideally, Gervonta will finally face Stevenson next year if the two win their respective matches in 2023. Shakur will face a still-to-be-determined opponent in the first half of 2023, followed followed by the winner of the Devin Haney vs. Lomachenko fighting.

If Stevenson wins his battles and Tank Davis wins against Hector and Ryan Garcia, then the logical conclusion would be that they meet to determine the last man standing.

Hopefully Gervonta won’t be prevented from fighting Shakur by his promoters at Mayweather Promotions because one can’t imagine how happy they would be to see him fight a non-PBC fighter like Stevenson in 2023 or 2024.

If Floyd doesn’t allow Tank to fight Stevenson, he’ll have a hard time getting his rematches against Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz and Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, and no one wants to see that shit.
