Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s late 3-pointer lifts Thunder past Wizards
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander capped performance by 42 points by draining a 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining in the fourth to lift the Oklahoma City Thunder away team to a 121-120 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
Gilgeous-Alexander’s heroes appeared shortly after Bradley Beal sank a long jumper near the bottom line, giving Washington a 120-118 lead with 6.7 seconds remaining.
Gilgeous-Alexander also had seven assists and six counter-attacks. He took 14 of 22 shots from the floor and 12 of 17 from the foul line.
Luguentz Dort scored 16 points and Josh Giddey added 11 points and six rebounds for the Thunder, who overcame a 17- and 16-point deficit to record their third win in four games.
Oklahoma City shot strong 54.3% (44 of 81) and 51.6% from 3-point (16 of 31).

Kristaps Porzingis collected 27 points and nine rebounds and Beal scored 15 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter. Beal was back from a five-game absence due to NBA health and safety procedures.
Kyle Kuzma scored 18 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the Wizards, which saw their all-win streak come to a halt.
Rui Hachimura scored 14 points from the bench for Washington.
Washington had a 31-14 lead in the first quarter in large part due to its ability to shoot sharp from the outer ring. Gilgeous-Alexander scored seven points in just over a minute late in the half to spark Oklahoma City, who closed the deficit gap by pulling the score even 37-37 early in the second half.
The Wizards again found their shot from the outer circle to take a 16-point lead in the second half and they secured a 67-54 advantage after halftime. The Thunder counterattacked as Gilgeous-Alexander scored 19 points in the third inning to give his team a two-point advantage.
