Shadai buys Grand Glory from group 1 winner for Broodmare . quest


Teruya Yoshida of Shadai Farm bought the winner of Group 1 Great Glory (GB) (Olympic Glory {Ire}) for the broodmare mission after she attended the G1 Japan Cup on Sunday, Jour de Galop report. Coming in fifth at the 2021 Cup, she is now jointly owned 50/50 by Yoshida and Xavier Marie’s Haras de Hus. Anne-Sophie Yoh, Haras de Hus benefits manager, confirmed the news to JDG.

Bred by Elevage Haras de Bourgeauville and sold for €18,000 to Marco Bozzi Bloodstock during Arqana’s October 2017 Sale, the bay made his triumphant debut in Bartolo Faraci’s shirt at Deauville in September. 12 of the 2018 juvenile season. Bought separately by Albert Frassetto, John D’Amato and Mike Pietrangelo throughout the winter, Grand Glory went on to take third place in the 2019 G1 Prix de Diane. Back at just 4 years old, the mare won the G3 Prix de Flore in heavy ground after making it to a pair of Group 2 earlier that season. At the age of five, she edged past the G3 Grand Prix de Vichy and the G1 Prix Jean Romanet, before losing a single shot at the G1 Prix de l’Opera in October of that year.

She crossed the Deauville ring again in Arqana’s Vente d’Elevage last December and brought in 2.5 million euros from Yohea playing the role of Marie. Now a 6-year-old, the bay won the Zarkava Prize listed this April and the G3 Allez France Award a month later in a Haras de Hus silk gown. Coming in third in Royal Ascot’s G1 Prince Of Wales’s S., Grand Glory was eliminated at both the G1 Prix Vermeille and the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Her record is 23-8-4-4, $1,257,387.

Aside from the placed Madonna Lily (Ire) (Daylami {Ire}), Grand Glory is the fifth of her six ponies and one of two bet winners. Her final and final pony is Bois d’Argent (GB) Toronado (Ire) 2017, who won at listing level in France. Madonna Lily is the half-sister of Canadian GII heroine S. Minakshi (Fr) (Footsteps in the sand {GB}), while she is also related to G1 Crown Oaks winner Arapaho Miss (Aus) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}), and her daughter G1 Kennedy VRC Oaks Miami Bound (NZ) winner ( Reliable Man {GB}) .
