Sergio Garcia leaves DP World Tour after joining LIV Golf
At this point, it is well known that members of the PGA Tour have a very negative view of golfers running away to participate in the Saudi-sponsored LIV Golf tournament. Obviously, the DP World Tour in Europe has a very similar attitude – and it doesn’t make Sergio Garcia feel welcome.
The 42-year-old professional tennis player and former Masters champion told reporters after The Open Championship ended on Sunday that he plans to leave the DP World Tour because he “doesn’t feel loved.”
“I’m pretty clear about what I’m going to do with the European circuit. Maybe leave it out,” Garcia told reporters in Spanish. “I want to play where I feel loved, and right now on the European Tour, I don’t feel loved.”
