To play her first match at the US Open 2022, Serena Williams wore a black, sheer top Nike dress covered in glitter, People reports. The glittery look boasted a 6-layer dress to honor her previous six US Open titles – and it was a fitting piece of clothing as she strives for a record 24th Grand Slam title.
Her sneakers are equally glamorous. The designer opted for the NikeCourt Flare 2 shoe with 400 hand-set diamonds, her initials engraved on the midsole, and an embellished Swoosh. The crystal-encrusted outfit, which Williams co-designed, was an amalgamation of the traditional attire worn by figure skaters. Nike said: “Inspired by the graceful competition dresses worn by figure skaters, the embroidered bodice and skirt make Serena the center of attention and allow her to freedom of movement”.
Olympia Ohanian, who is famous for crafting style statement all her own, paired with her mother in a glittery Nike outfit and a beaded hairstyle with special meaning.
