Sadly, Robbie passed away on October 14, 2022, confirmed by Hollywood Reporter, after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.
Fans around the world will remember him most in the iconic role, and it’s something Robbie admits he’s most proud of. Harry Potter 20th Anniversary especially. “The legacy of these films is that my children will show them to their children,” he said with tears in his eyes. “So you can watch them in 50 years’ time, that’s easy. I won’t be here, sadly… But Hagrid will. In the special, it is clear how close he has come to the cast of the movies. He shared a special moment with Emma Watson, who plays Hermione, as they reflect her growing up on screen. She also lamented that the beloved actor is ready to cause more ”naughty” than any child actor, with Rupert Grint jokingly said that he was “Such a child.”
After learning of his death, many of Robbie’s Potter co-stars were quick to pay their respects to their dearly loved friend, as many others have done. Potter icon passed away recently.

The author of the Harry Potter series brought her Twitter right after hearing the news to pay tribute to the man who brought one of her life’s most beloved characters to the big screen. Share shared a never-before-seen intimate photo of them together at a classy, best-dressed affair there. “I’ll never know anyone from as far away as Robbie again,” she wrote in the caption. “He is an incredible talent, a perfect talent, and I am so fortunate to have known him, worked with him and made me feel good with him. I send my deepest love and condolences to his family, above all his children.”
