Kenan & Kel aired for four seasons on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2000. Coolio not only sang the theme song, but was also featured alongside Kenan and Kel in the show’s opening credits. He raps the lyrics while Kenan and Kel dance with him in various settings.
Coolio was only 59 years old at the time his death. He was visiting a friend in Los Angeles and never returned from a trip to the bathroom when the friend discovered him unconscious on the floor, according to his manager. The rapper unfortunately died at the scene. Coolio is best known for his song “Gangsta’s Paradise,” but fans on Twitter can’t help but reminisce about his involvement in the show. Kenan & Kel so is the song. The 59-year-old’s cause of death has yet to be confirmed, but is expected to be revealed after an autopsy.
