Cher, 76 years old, is preparing to say goodbye to her luxurious mansion in Malibu, CA. The singer put up for sale the amazing Italian Renaissance-inspired real estate she bought in 1989 for $75 million, $10 million less than her original asking price. back in October 2022based on Everybody. The location is all it takes for a superstar and sits on 13,126 square feet on 1.73 acres.
The mansion apparently has 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and is surrounded by a tennis court and infinity pool. The house was listed by Robert Kass and Drew Fenton of Carolwood Estate and the list includes details and eye catching images of the monumental home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It is located on the Pacific Coast Highway and is surrounded by 40 palm trees near an octagonal fountain courtyard.
When talking to architecture digest about the mansion in 2016, Cher explained how she wanted to create her own “version of Venice” after she was inspired during a visit to Venice and Casa Casuarina, later the mansion of her late friend . Gianni Versace in Miami’s South Beach. Designer and longtime friend of Cher Ron Wilson also talked to ADVERTISEMENT about Cher’s vision for the place.
“As her mind drifted to the Italian Renaissance, she bought 50 books and started studying—presenting me ideas,” says Ron. “Both structure and interior, this house is Cher’s idea. My job is to interpret what she is thinking.”
The house is said to have taken five years to build and once completed, Cher is happy with the end result. “Every day when I wake up and look out my bedroom window, I never fail to be surprised,” says Cher. ADVERTISEMENT about her experience in the house in 2002. “Each room has two ocean views, each of which is beautiful — the water is always sparkling, the sunset is always on. My home is special because it is my sanctuary, my fortress, really—the only place where I have any privacy. There is no other place that I want to go.”
