Sebastian Vettel drives Aston Martin’s incredible first Grand Prix car

Aston Martin doesn’t have a lot of eleven race memories at this point Formula 1 World Championship Season. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine. The problem is that the regulations put a maximum engine capacity of two liters. Aston Martins are the only cars to start without a two-liter engine.

The FIAT 802 that won the 1922 French Grand Prix had an inline-six that produced 112 hp. GP’s 1.5-liter engine can only produce 57 horsepower. Aston Martins didn’t even make it through the entire race. Both engines failed as Zborowski retired after lap 19 and Gallop retired after lap 29 of the 60 lap race.

Aston Martin claims their cars run Thursday and Friday when they withdrew from the race, but I can’t find any other sources to corroborate that claim. The only time an Aston came close to the front was at the start. gallop start the race in fifth place because his assigned race number is the fifth lowest and the starting order is decided by the race number. Zborowski started at 11th and never went higher.

The car enjoyed a bit of success after being sold the following year to Marion Agnew. She will be the one to give TT1 its affectionate nickname, Green Pea. Against a more suitable opponent, Green Pea finished third at the Grand Prix de Boulogne in 1923. Though a capable racer in her own right, Agnew’s future husband Robert C.Morgan drove Green Pea on that day and secure the podium.

However, this raises a question. Which Aston Martin is worse, 2022 AMR22 or 1922 GP? This year’s Aston Martin has shown promise in the right conditions. The 1922 Aston Martin was destined to be outperformed by real Grand Prix machinery but found a place in the race with similarly sized motor racing cars. I know you will always remember your first, but maybe this is forgettable.
