Meanwhile, Gina caught the eye this summer. She enjoyed auditioning with Ashlyn and Kourtney during the school year, and Gina said she felt she needed to “stand on her own this summer. This combined into an epic Sofia Wylie solo number called “Balance”. Give her the lead, coward!
When Gina walks out of her chalet, she immediately meets Ricky. Is there something completely awkward when they hold their hand or hug it out? They finally hugged each other. Gina tells Ricky that she wants them to start over, so Ricky literally goes back. That is Not Gina’s idea. Ricky is the definition of a goofball.
“We are in a new place. Now we are different people. We can start fresh. No drama. No chocolates,” Gina said.
Nini finds out who her father is
Meanwhile, Nini has arrived in Los Angeles with her parents. They asked her if she missed Marvin. As it turned out, Marvin was her parents’ sperm donor. Marvin and Nini get a chance to talk alone after the big reveal. Marvin then assures Nini that “the best is yet to come”, which brings us a great one. Olivia Rodrigo solo moment.
Gina walked into the audition room and immediately spotted EJ with Val, the choreographer, do Zombies star Meg Donnelly. “She and EJ are back,” Maddox reveals to Gina, and the wheel spins in her head. EJ told Val that he was directing the show, and together they took on the casting role.
Kourtney offers to help Maddox with anything she needs for the show, but Maddox refuses. Maddox is well aware that she’s a “good taste,” but she’s been struggling with making friends this summer.
While Ricky tried to act like he didn’t care what happened this summer, he took his snowsuit to audition. A few 8th graders tried to talk to Gina before the audition, and Gina 1.0 started to swing. “You two aren’t even friends. You are a competitor,” Gina warns.

The audition began with a performance of “For the first time in forever” before moving on to “Do you want to build a snowman?” People are killing it. While Ricky was singing, complete in his snowsuit in the middle of summer, Gina watched him from backstage! (Ship owner Rina, I know you’ve caught that.)
Dewey stressed to Jet that he can’t just sit around this summer. He urged him to try his hand at musicals. After the audition, everyone wondered what they should do next. Everyone asked EJ questions, and he was confused. Maddox, the stage manager, comes to the rescue and helps guide everyone to their location.
Suddenly, Jet entered the door. EJ and Ricky encouraged him to audition. His voice is unbelievable. Careful, Ricky!
When EJ came up with how Val was “the best”, Gina started her self-defense mechanism. She started hinting that maybe they should take a break. “You and me? The only thing I don’t worry about,” EJ promises. However, he thinks they should maintain a professional distance at practice sessions.
Kourtney and Ashley are still giving Maddox extra eyes. They weren’t sure what she was up to. Gina comes to her defense and says she is harmless. But is it her?! Meanwhile, Carlos went to snoop on the cast list. At first sight, he didn’t like what he saw. “Not on my watch,” he said before starting to erase!
