MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines won three bronze medals in the vovinam event of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at Chroy Changvar Convention Center: Hall F in Cambodia on Saturday.
Rhenel Guillermo Desuyo finished in third place after defeating Thailand’s Chainarong Yawanophat in the men’s 65kg semi-final in vovinam, a traditional Vietnamese martial art.
Cambodia’s Eh Virekkaamchhitphouthong went home with a gold medal.
Jovan Medallo, also took home a bronze medal in the men’s sun-moon broadsword with 436 points.
House bet Ly Boramy took home the gold medal with 451 points while Vietnam’s Khac Nguyen Huynh took the silver medal in this event.
Jerlyn Kingad also finished third on the podium in the women’s 55kg category after losing in the semifinals to Panyasyli Alisa of Laos, who finished with a silver medal.
Thi Hien Le won the 55kg category after defeating Pantasyli in the Finals to claim the gold medal.
