Scenes of David Beckham appear from the day he met the Queen and accepted his OBE

David Beckham’s behind-the-scenes footage has emerged since the day he met the Queen and received an OBE in 2003 to serve football.

The former footballer, 47, looked very emotional on Friday as he moved past Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin as he paid his respects after queuing for 13 hours.

When the former England captain and singer dressed up for the special occasion, they were filmed for their show that aired 20 years ago.

David shook hands with the late monarch when he was named an OBE by the Queen in 2003 for his services to football.

Victoria and the couple’s two sons, Brooklyn and Romeo, as well as David’s grandparents, were present to see him receive the honor.

David told the cameras: ‘It’s actually pretty amazing because you hear about all the other OBEs over the years and one of them was Bobby Charlton and he was my idol and my dad’s idol. “

“Heard I got one of them,” he began. ‘The first time I received a letter that said David Beckham OBE. Surprised.

‘I’m going to take my mum and dad, I know they’ll appreciate it but I think my grandpa and grandma, it’s going to be a great experience for them. My Nan is a big fan of the royal family so it’s good for them. ‘

He went on to recall his previous encounters with the Queen: ‘I met the Queen at the Commonwealth Games when I opened in Manchester. She is very lovely. ‘

Victoria then said directly to her husband: ‘You look so beautiful; you’re handsome. I think you’ll take the Queen you know. ‘

She continued: ‘We go to the palace and David will take his OBE and we are so proud of him.’

“I’m really looking forward to it,” David added as Victoria continued: “David’s grandmother and grandfather were really excited.”

‘It’s going to be a really nice day. And then we’ll have lunch after that. I can’t believe you would be David Beckham OBE. ‘

“I know,” David laughed before Victoria joked, “I can’t believe you beat me to it!”

The father-of-four finally reached the Queen’s coffin at around 3:30pm after lining up, and took just a few seconds to bow before moving on to make way for those behind.

And the stark contrast to Friday’s plans comes as tensions are rumored between the Brooklyn family and his wife growing – with recent reports claiming his parents are ‘devastated’.

In 2014, David was on the verge of becoming Sir on the New Year’s Honors list until a ‘red flag’ warning from HM Revenue and Customs sank his nomination.

The former soccer player is one of dozens of wealthy celebrities who have invested in the controversial Ingenious Media program to fund movies and reduce investors’ personal tax liability. HMRC has labeled the program as a means of tax avoidance.

But a source has now revealed to the publication: ‘David, like many celebrities woven by Ingenious, had no idea what was going on at the time.

‘His team first took the initiative to approach HMRC almost two years ago, when David made his business independent, and in the end it all worked out, once and for all, in this year.’

They continued: ‘In 2013, David was told the only reason he was omitted for a knighthood was because of tax failures. Now that it’s cleared up, there’s absolutely no reason for him not to be honored.

‘He will obviously be completely moved by the knighthood – but have no illusions and will only believe it when he sees it.’
