Sarah Murdoch’s brother allegedly told shocked staff to ‘f**k off’ – but claims email was hacked

Sarah Murdoch’s brother allegedly told one of his employees to ‘f**k off’ during an email argument – before claiming that his account had been hacked.

Shaun O’Hare, whose older model and actress sister is married to media mogul Lachlan Murdoch, runs the international consulting firm Eutility.

A resigning energy broker was arguing with chief executive Clynton Higgs and chief financial officer Sara Marks when Mr O’Hare allegedly interfered.

‘F**k off, you settle with me now,’ he is said to have sent from his iPhone on July 14 in an email sequence seen by Daily Mail Australia.

Mr O’Hare is the brother of model Sarah Murdoch, who is married to News Corp media mogul Lachlan Murdoch.

The 55-year-old employee said he would complain to the Fair Work Ombudsman about the email and the events leading up to it.

‘I was completely shocked. disgusted, annoyed and scared when I saw that email,’ he said in an interview.

Mr O’Hare, after being called out by staff, sent a much more conciliatory follow-up and asserted that he never sent the offending email.

“We’re looking for a potential email hack because I certainly didn’t send that email,” he wrote.

‘I wish you the best in your new endeavours and I believe both Clynton and you will work this out. I’m definitely not participating at this point.

‘I’m sure our paths will cross again and will look forward to seeing you if that happens.’

The employee refuted this explanation and said he was sure his former boss sent the email.

Mr O’Hare stuck to his story when contacted by Daily Mail Australia while on holiday in Spain and said he believed he had ‘patched things up’ with his former employee.

“That’s still under investigation… I don’t have the latest from my office, I’m traveling on a day off,” he said.

When not on holiday in Europe, Mr O’Hare has spent most of the past few years on Covid at his holiday home in Port Douglas in Far North Queensland, rather than his home in Sydney.

‘I told him if I saw him on the street I would shake his hand. It was just one of the things that happened. ‘

However, the employee claims Mr O’Hare called him shortly after speaking to Daily Mail Australia and admitted to sending an email ‘f**k off’.

“He apologized for the email, he said it was in poor form,” he said.

The dispute arose when the employee resigned after six years at Eutility, an energy and telecommunications company, to work for a competitor.

He claims he is owed about $10,000 in commissions but the company is stretching its legs, prompting the email chain Mr. O’Hare interjected.

Ms. Marks also agreed to let the broker keep her mobile number, but Mr. Higgs rejected the deal.

“As you prepare for a competitor, I have come to appreciate Sara’s offer,” he wrote in a text.

Staff also said Mr O’Hare called him in November to say that if he didn’t improve his results, he would be out of work by the end of March.

‘[Since the call] I didn’t get a good night’s sleep and I did everything I could to try to improve my results and rebuild,’ he wrote to Mr O’Hare.

He claimed the call was illegal because he was not warned or told what to do to improve and he was then given an ‘unattainable’ performance improvement plan to manage. remove him from the company.

Mr. O’Hare strongly denied making the phone call.

Miss Ellem, who has promoted herself for good practice of ‘the art of seduction / breaking / trapeze’, was even a guest at Lachlan and Sarah Murdoch’s 20th wedding anniversary party on April 2019.

However, the two changed their profile pictures on social media to one without each other, and Mr O’Hare expressed reservations about the status of their relationship.

“Lucy and I are very good friends,” he said when asked if they were still together and insisted she wasn’t traveling to Europe with him.

When asked if that means they’re just friends and the engagement is over, he replied: ‘That remains to be determined… She’s a lovely girl.’

Moments later, he came back from his comment, saying that they were still together.

Mr O’Hare has two teenage daughters, Ashleigh and Tara, from a previous relationship.

He started Eutility in 1999 and is its chief executive officer.
