Sarah Ferguson checks her phone outside Venice airport amid Queen’s health concerns

Sarah Ferguson appeared glued to her phone outside Venice airport this afternoon following a statement from Buckingham Palace that the Queen was ‘under medical supervision’.

Fergie’s ex-husband Prince Andrew and his siblings traveled to Balmoral, Scotland, where the Queen, 96, is currently staying, after the Palace informed doctors were concerned for the Queen’s health.

After spending the last few days attending the 79th Venice International Film Festival, Fergie looked serious as she looked at her phone after the announcement.

Fergie, who shares daughters Princess Eugenie, 32, and Princess Beatrice, 34, with Prince Andrew, remains close to her ex-husband, whom she divorced in 1996.

She’s also extremely appreciative of the Queen, giving insight into her admiration for the King during an interview on the Tea with Twiggy podcast last year.

The 62-year-old told the podcast: ‘I think to myself that to be honest, my mother-in-law is more of a mother to me than my mother. [She’s] never falter. ‘

Fergie added: ‘I absolutely adore the amazing way the Queen is so modern … and how flexible, understanding, and forgiving and generous.’

She added that the Monarch was her ‘greatest mentor’ and continued to visit her even after her split from Prince Andrew.

Earlier today, Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming the Queen was under medical supervision after doctors became concerned about her health.

The statement added that the Queen is ‘comfortable’ and will stay at Balmoral.

Following the announcement, Prince Charles and Camilla arrived at the estate in the Scottish Highlands, followed by Prince William.

The Queen’s young children Prince Andrew and Prince Edward also went to Balmoral, while Princess Anne was there.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who will be visiting the UK this week, have pulled out of their appearance at the WellChild Awards in London this evening as the Duke of Sussex also travels to Balmoral.

The 96-year-old monarch, who celebrated his 70th coronation this year in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee, has had mobility issues.

In recent appearances, she was pictured walking with a cane and was pictured using a mobility aid on Tuesday, when new prime minister Liz Truss arrived to ‘kiss hands’ – a process in which the King formally invites the country’s new leader to form government.
