With Santa Anita . ParkClassic Encounter opening day is coming up on December 26, the track will once again offer significant rewards to riders who bring their horses out of state for a run at Santa Anita in winter and summer. This spring through the Ship & Win program that has also proven to work at Del Mar.
“Simply put, the Ship & Win program is the winner,” said Chris Merz, Santa Anita racing director and racing secretary. “Santa Anita is a great place to train and race in the winter, and with these bonuses available to out-of-state horses, it makes us even more attractive to a wide range of owners and trainers across the country.
“School size has always been a priority, and with Ship & Win bolstering our inventory, we’re in a better position to introduce an attractive product for players to bet on. We’re very lost. for the new year and we encourage anyone with questions to please give us a call.”
Eligible Ship & Win horses will receive a $5,000 bonus as well as coins in the wallet at 35% higher than the percentage in the wallet allocated for a single start. Horses that qualify for the 2022 Del Mar Crosby Season Meet will also be eligible for the Ship & Win bonus in the first start at the upcoming Santa Anita Classic Meeting.
The $5,000 bonus will also apply to any staking horses that meet the Ship & Win eligibility guidelines, but those horses will not be eligible for the 35% raise.
