Santa Anita cancels Saturday card

With a 100% probability of rain next Saturday, officials at Santa Anita Park announced the cancellation of the eight races for the day. Following discussions with California Thoroughbred Trainers, California Thoroughbred Owners, and the California Horse Racing Board, the races originally scheduled for Saturday will be made available as supplements to Owners. Sunday, Monday (race holiday) and Friday, January 20. GIII La Canada S . is now listed as minor for Sunday. Friday, January 20 is considered a dark day for Monday’s MLK day show.

“Given the heavy rain we’ve experienced over the past week and with what’s currently predicted for Saturday, we’d like to inform our fans and riders in advance that we’ll be rescheduled. these races,” said Nate Newby, Santa Anita Senior Vice President and General Manager. “Although we forecast wet weather this weekend, it looks like we’re about to turn a corner and we expect sunny skies next weekend.”

Although the live race was canceled this Saturday, Santa Anita will be open for simulcast bets starting at 10am
