Samsung launches its TV lineup for 2023 and it’s amazing

Last month, Samsung invited me to one of its facilities to check out the latest range of Samsung TVs, featuring the creme de la creme of its new 2023 TV series. Naturally, I accepted and got to try the latest panels: S95C OLED, QN95C 4K QLED and QN900C 8K QLED.

It’s time to play games with the S95C OLED

First, I checked 77-inch Samsung S95C OLED 4K Smart TV. Older OLED models can feel bulky and take up a lot of space. The new model is about the same thickness as my Google Pixel 6 Pro, making it great for both TV stands and wall mounts. This is thanks in part to Samsung’s signature design of placing the processor and other chipsets in a panel behind the display that can rest on top of the panel while the TV is mounted on top.

Its display features a glossy finish, a design that will really make all the colors pop on the screen. This is the first model with Quantum Dot technology, which highlights scenes from Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, but I’m in a windowless room so I can’t see it. How it works in a well-lit space. As a precaution, therefore, I hesitate to recommend this for brightly lit living rooms.

However, if you put it in a darker office or living room, then this is the monitor for you as the rich contrast combined with the colors creates a detailed, stunning 4K cinematic experience for both. casual viewers and most importantly gamers.

This is the only way you should play Stardew Valley: on the Samsung S95C OLED TV.

I played both Stardew Valley and Skyrim and immediately noticed the detail — and auto upscaling in 4K — that the S95C has to offer. The millions of self-illuminating pixels in this panel give game visuals a good contrast that keeps my eyes glued to the screen, and the sound is solid enough that I feel like I can use it without a soundbar. , but I would always recommend one to go with any TV.

Out of all the TVs I’ve tested, this one is by far the best for lounging around the Riften or fishing around Stardew. If you are a gamer, then this TV is for you. This panel is available to order from Samsung’s website in 55-, 65-, and 77-inch screens. starting at $1,700.

The color with this particular scene on the Samsung S95C 4K OLED smart TV has since been much improved compared to its sister model, the QN90B.

Next, I checked out the 77-inch Samsung S95C QLED smart TV. Unlike OLED, this 77-inch panel does not have any glare and displays an even brighter image. QN90B I tested last year. I assume this is due to the advanced dimming and lightening areas used in this panel.

I tested it with a David Attenborough documentary and found myself overwhelmed by how detailed the QLED is encapsulated in its 77-inch screen. According to Samsung, the experts at Pantone validated the colors on the screen to bring images to life — and I believe in it.

Each flamingo feather has crystal clear detail and color. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought this panel was giving me 8K images because the quality was so amazing, but I also assumed this was due to the enhanced Neo Quantum HDR+ and the lighting technology implemented. .

By far, the S95C QLED is my favorite TV to test because it also delivers a really bright picture for any space, with one of the biggest improvements being the enhanced dimming and illumination zones. It also gives the most vivid colors of all the TVs I’ve tested, especially when it comes to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Another great feature of all these boards is integrated game centermakes it easy to stream fan favorites for as little as $15 per month, no console needed.

While I didn’t detect any problems with the sound (it’s pretty good), I also didn’t detect the Slim One Connect hub, meaning it’s all in the TV. It’s reflected in a slightly thicker screen, but it’s nothing short of dramatic for any living room.

My judgment? This monitor would be the perfect combination for gaming and watching TV, and while you can very well expect it in 65, 77, and 85-inch panels, it’s not yet available. Stay tuned as I will update this page as it drops.

Despite being the darkest of the 3 TV models I tested, the Samsung QN95C QLED TV still gives viewers a great picture.

Movie enthusiasts: QN900C is your new display

The last TV I tested was Samsung’s flagship 8K panel: the QN900C smart TV. Samsung has given the bezel-less TV some top-of-the-line upgrades, including an upgrade of Quantum Matrix technology to Quantum Matrix Pro that delivers up to 1.5x more illumination area. Ironically, out of all the TVs I’ve tested, I found this panel the darkest, but I was able to tweak the settings thanks to the extensive calibration settings the panel offers.

This TV comes with some of the best specs for a TV, including Dolby Atmos, Object Tracking Audio, Q-Symphony 3.0, and a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz for gaming. The Zelda looks stunning on this console thanks to the Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro, but this TV was really popular for watching Amazon Prime’s Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

This panel offers the same Pantone validated colors as the QN95C. The Elves and Numenor not only provide lifelike visuals, but I feel like I can spot every stitch on the costume and the scenery looks like cinematic masterpieces on the 77-inch screen. . For movie enthusiasts, you’ll want to pre-order this model. You can choose it in 65-, 75- and 85-inch sizes.
