Samsung Galaxy S22 users complain about not receiving messages after recent update
This year’s flagship smartphone from Samsung – Galaxy S22 – received the September security update. The update fixes about 20 vulnerabilities and updates the Android security patch through September 2022. Looks like it also broke messaging for one number of users.
As reported by Pinukiaweb, some Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra the user cannot receive text messages after the update; There are multiple threads on the same topic posted on Samsung Community and Reddit.
While a quick reboot seems to fix the problem, it is not permanent as the same problem reappears after a while. Users said they are being forced to restart their smartphones, because they miss some important texts and even after restarting, they still receive some texts.
This bug seems to only affect users in the US with carrier-locked Galaxy S22 models. Although, it is facing users on every service provider, including Verizon, T-Mobile and others. So far, there are no reports of such issues facing any users in India.
Even changing the default messaging app doesn’t seem to help much, as the problem seems to affect both Samsung Messages and Google Messages.
It’s not clear if there’s an issue with the carrier or the smartphone. Neither does your network service provider SAMSUNG commented as now. The only thing users can do is wait for the update or work their way up with temporary fixes.
