Samia Longchambon was left baffled after taking a swimming pool selfie in which her body appeared to be cut in half.
The Coronation Street actress, 40, who plays Maria Connor in the soap, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a snap earlier in the summer in which she can be seen wearing a bikini top Animal print and black pants with a straw hat.
However, her lower half is completely separate from her top half in the photo, with her legs appearing to be walking underwater.

She captioned her post: ‘I should have paid more attention to GCSE physics, had to Google it.. #refraction.’
Refraction is when light travels from air into water, causing it to slow down and change direction slightly, creating an optical illusion in Samia’s image.
In another photo, Samia looks relaxed as she holds her hands in the air as she walks past the glass-bottomed section of the crystal clear pool she immersed herself in on a recent vacation.

The incredible moments come after Samia revealed she was misdiagnosed with asthma after having difficulty breathing due to crippling anxiety.
Appearing on Loose Women last year, the actress revealed she has struggled with her mental health since she was a child, which prompted her mother Patsy Ghadie to take her to the doctor.
Recalling the outcome of the date, Samia admits that feelings of anxiety in her early years have continued into adulthood.

She told the panelists via video link: ‘People who know me have always known I’m a pretty nervous person.
‘I’m known for being nervous and really cautious about things.
‘I’ve had anxiety since I was a kid and when I was little my mom took me to the doctor and the doctor first diagnosed me with asthma because I couldn’t take deep breaths.
‘So they gave me the inhaler when I was about 11 and thought it was asthma but it wasn’t, it was anxiety. “
The actress is the mother of 11-year-old Freya, whom she shares with the ex-husband of real estate developer Matthew Smith.
The couple separated in 2011 after six years of marriage.
She married Dancing On Ice expert Sylvain Longchambon in 2016 and they welcomed son Yves, six, in September 2015.
