Sakheer Out of Dewhurst

Rising Star TDN Sakheer (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) will be forced to miss G1 Darley Dewhurst S. on Saturday at Newmarket after coach Roger Varian revealed that G2 winner Mill Reef S. committed a foul. Added to the seven feathers feature on Monday, KHK Racing’s emerging fame will now wait until 2023 to test his Classic credentials. “This is of course very upsetting and disappointing and I am so sorry to the KHK Racing owners and everyone connected to the horse,” Varian posted on Twitter Thursday. “He will have to leave now in the off-season and we look forward to him coming back as a three-year-old.”

Sakheer’s absence means that TDN Rising Star Nostrum (GB) (King {GB}) has the mantle of favorites, with Sir Michael Stoute placing Richard Kingscote on G3 Tattersalls winner S. Ryan Moore, who has teamed with Juddmonte hybrids on his previous two warm-ups, riding the item. Ballydoyle’s unique entry Aesop’s Fables (Ire) (No, never), again Rising Star TDN who wanted to add to his G2 Futurity S. and offer Aidan O’Brien a record eighth extension. Aside from Nostrum, Juddmonte has a strong hand as the winner of G2 Champagne S. and G3 Acomb S. trained by Andrew Balding. Chaldean (GB) (Frankel {GB}) lined up with Frankie Dettori in the saddle, while Charlie Appleby relied on the list of undefeated Pat Eddery S. and Listed Ascendant S. Top Scorer. Naval strength (GB) (Teophilo {Ire}).
