Sai Sanjay, Arjun Balu win the title of MRF National Racing 2022
Pratik Sonawane and Viswas Vijayraj won the Polo Cup and Formula LGB 1300 titles, respectively.
The delayed 2022 season of the MRF MMSC Indian National Motor Racing Championship has ended with the final round at the Madras International Circuit. Sai Sanjay and Arjun Balu emerged as the big winners, taking home the MRF Formula 2000 (F2000) and Indian Touring Cars titles, respectively.
Elsewhere, Viswas Vijayraj won the LGB Formula 1300 title, while Pratik Sonawane took home the crown in the revived Polo Cup series.

MRF F2000
It was an intense title decision in the MRF F2000 class, with five drivers fighting for victory in the finale. Sohil Shah stood out by winning all three races over the weekend. However, the 21-year-old tennis player from Bengaluru had to skip 2 of the 4 rounds this season and finished 4th overall.
Sai Sanjay’s two podium appearances were enough for him to claim the title overall, ahead of Ryan Mohamed and Divy Nandan.
Indian tourist car
Quite a few top drivers have been disqualified from the Indian Touring Car races due to technical violations. Arjun Balu of Race Concepts and Arjun Narendran of Arka Motorsports, who finished first and second in Race 1, both subsequently disqualified.
Narendran was also eliminated from Race 2, but returned to win Race 3. However, Balu’s Race 2 victory and second place in Race 3 were enough for him to win. title. This is the veteran driver’s 11th national title.
Formula LG 1300
LGB 1300 Initial Formula 1 leader Raghul Rangasamy (MSport) dropped out after being disqualified for ignoring the black flag in the final race. This helped Viswas Vijayraj (DTS Racing) win the title after finishing the race in second place, behind Tijil Rao (Momentum Motorsports).

With Volkswagen Motorsport India operations handed over to Rayo Racing, Polo Cup revived again with the national championship in the penultimate round. That round was dominated by Sandeep Kumar. But as only a guest racer, Pratik Sonawane led the overall championship.
Despite not winning a race in the finale, Sonawane did enough to win the title. He appeared once on the podium in the ring, runner-up in Race 1. Ritesh Rai and Avik Anwar each won a race.
For the remaining classes, Performance Racing’s Ritesh Rai and Akkineni Anand Prasad won the Super Stock and Indian Junior Touring Cars titles, respectively. The title in the category of MRF Saloons, including Toyota Etios, went to Justin Singh.
