Group 1 double winner Saffron Beach is the latest superstar race set to grace the Tattersalls’ new Scepter session during the December Mares Sale on Nov.
Saffron Beach is another well-known name that has begun its journey to stardom by winning both starts, including the Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes for Jane Chapple-Hyam.
She went on to finish runner-up in last year’s Qipco 1,000 Guineas (G1) before adding a first level winner to make her name back at Newmarket Racecourse in the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes (G1). She also joined the Betway Atalanta Stakes at the Sandown Park Race Course in between.
Daughter of New Bay This year came back better than ever as, after a good fourth run at the DP World-sponsored Dubai Turf (G1), scored an easy success in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes (G2) and then the Prix Rothschild (G1).
She most recently came in second Pearl of Galore at Coomore America Justify Matron Stakes (G1) on Irish Champions Weekend.
Bred by the China Horse Club, the 4-year-old foal is from the first batch of the exciting new Bay Ballylinch Stud. She is out of victory Raven’s Pass mare Falling petal .
Saffron Beach’s half-sister by Australia , Providenciales, sold from Ballylinch to Blandford Bloodstock for 450,000 guineas in Book 1 last year. She’s training with John and Thady Gosden.
Falling Petals are half-sisters to the third Shadwell Middle Park Stakes (G1) Hunt down and to Continua The team winner’s smash and second is King’s Stand Stakes (G1) Cotai Glory a top second season stallion for Tally-Ho Stud.
