Rylan Clark reveals his body ‘stopped working’ and he ‘can’t even talk’ during divorce from ex Dan Neal

Rylan Clark has revealed his body ‘stopped working’ and his mother Linda believed he had suffered a stroke during his breakdown last year.
The presenter, 33, admitted he couldn’t even speak and gave ‘slurred speech’ while taking time out of the limelight during his divorce from ex-husband Dan Neal.
He previously claimed to have dropped to just 9 ice cubes, which resulted in him being hospitalized for ‘safety reasons’ after refusing food.

Now, in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, the TV personality said: ‘My body has completely shut down. I will not eat. I went through a period where I couldn’t even speak, which for some people can be quite helpful.
‘My speech was just slurred. My mother thought I had a stroke. My body just went. I was relegated to 9th and I am 6 meters 4.’
A die-hard Eurovision fan, he has been a semi-finalist commentator since 2018 but his notable absence from the 2021 competition has raised red flags among friends.
Rylan continued: ‘Two days before I was due to do Eurovision, everyone knew when I was not at Eurovision, something was wrong.

‘If I had done that, I probably wouldn’t have fallen so quickly. And when I say no quickly, it feels like minutes. I feel like I’ve been hit and I’ve shut down. ‘
Former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who claims he hasn’t stopped working since starring on The X Factor in 2012, confessed he ‘needs’ a break.
He said: ‘It was tough but thinking back, I needed to stop. Maybe it’s a combination of 10 years. I haven’t stopped since my day on The X Factor.
‘Nothing stops. I don’t regret stopping. I really feel that if I had tried to move on, I could have handled things better personally. I don’t regret that I stopped. ‘

After a solo trip to Spain last week, Rylan said: ‘Doing what I did last week with Barcelona is a stop for me. That’s how I will manage in the future.
‘If I feel like I need a stop, have a stop, but have a fun stop to yourself. And don’t be afraid of your own company.
‘I’ve never been alone in my entire life. I will always live with my mother. Then I joined The X Factor. Then I met my ex and we moved in together.
‘I’ve never lived alone, at 32 I’m so scared. That’s what I fear, being alone. I was scared because no one was there. ‘
Earlier this year, Rylan revealed that he ‘didn’t know if he could move on’ following the breakdown of his marriage, which has kept him a step away from the limelight.

The TV personality shocked fans when he temporarily stepped down from his duties as a BBC Radio 2 presenter, but has now confessed that he was hospitalized for ‘safety reasons’ after refuse food.
He admitted he was ‘a danger to himself’ and ‘didn’t think he’d get any better’ when things were at their worst, as well as that he would be ‘here today’.
At a time when drones are flying over his house and concern from his loving supporters is growing, Rylan reveals that he couldn’t feel more alone.
He told The Observer: ‘It’s really weird talking about this, because I haven’t even talked about it with my friends yet. I never thought I could have such a disease. ‘

The former X Factor contestant confessed that he ‘didn’t know himself at certain points’ and ‘was having thoughts and doing things that made him uncomfortable’.
He continued: ‘I didn’t think I would be here. I don’t think I can continue [to work or to live]. I don’t think I’ll really go back. I was very… gone. ‘
Rylan admitted in a recent interview with The Sun that he became ‘dangerously thin’ and ‘mentally unwell’ after splitting from husband Dan Neal last year.

TV presenter and former police officer Dan announced their split last June after six years together.
And, while Rylan admits life is still ‘bad’ after the breakup, he’s bounced back, focusing on his health and diet while ramping up in the gym, Health promotion.
He said: ‘I’m sick and I’ve lost weight, I’m under 10 stone – and I’m 6 feet 4 inches tall, so that’s not good.
‘The honest truth is it didn’t happen.’
Celebrity Big Brother winner Rylan has taken a break from his work commitments over the summer to take care of himself, praising his mother Linda as a ‘saviour’ in the meantime.
The media personality said his family was ‘very worried’ for him after he ‘disappeared’ for four months this year, temporarily taking a break from public life and keeping quiet on social media.
He said: “One of my biggest regrets this year is making my mother unwell. ‘I need to come back to me.’
