Ryan Garcia’s brother tells Tank Davis to “train hard” to fight later this year

Via Craig Daly: Ryan Garcia’s brother Sean Garcia says he wants Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis to secure him “Work hard” for a fight later this year in December with his brother.

Surprisingly, Sean says he doesn’t know why Ryan is the underdog against former undefeated three-division world champion Tank Davis (27-0.25 KOs), but he said they’ll watch when the match is over. The fight took place between them.

Bookmakers will note that Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) has never won a world title. The best names on Ryan’s six-year professional résumé are Javier Fortuna and Luke Campbell, both of whom were beaten several times before Kingry took on them.

Last Saturday night, Ryan stopped #11 edge contenders WBC Fortuna (37-4, -1, 26 KOs) in the sixth round at Crypto Arena in Los Angeles.

Fortuna had previously lost to Joseph ‘Jojo’ Diaz, Robert Easter Jr and Jason Sosa. As for Ryan who is NOT the underdog to Tank Davis, he will need to beat better fighters than Campbell and Fortuna, as those guys are old and over.

To be taken seriously by the bookmakers, Ryan should have played against Vasyl Lomachenko, Isaac Cruz and Jojo Diaz.

With Ryan’s fight last Saturday night at 140, he was supposed to be up against a lighterweight contender Fortuna, who used to be 130 pounds, minor for lightweight.

In his post-match interview last Saturday, Ryan announced that he will NOT be returning to the 135-lb division.

In that case, he would have been up against an opponent at 140, like Regis Prograis, Jose Zepeda, Subriel Matias, Jose Ramirez, or Gary Antuanne Russell. Those people will be tough opponents for Ryan Garcia because they are not old, small, weak and drifting like Fortuna.

“Ryan worked hard for this; Like I said, Ryan works hard,” Sean Garcia told Fighthype after Ryan Garcia eliminated Javier Fortuna.

“He is very intelligent and very disciplined all year round, and it just showed today that we are here on a mission. We’re here to do something that many people suspect we do,Sean talked about Ryan.

“I’m so excited, so let’s do it,” Sean said when he learned that Tank Davis had tweeted about meeting them later this year. “Ryan is ready, Ryan wants him, and that’s it, no one else.

“Of course, he will [Ryan] is the weaker one, but I don’t know. I don’t know why he should. We’ll see when it happens. Gervonta, train hard“Sean Garcia told his message for Tank Davis.

“No, we’ll see him in December,” Ryan Garcia’s attorney Lupe Valencia told Fighthype, saying that Tank Davis tweeted, “See you later this year.”

“Hopefully, we’ll work on that,” Lupe said. “I think it will happen. We’re going to try to make it happen and that’s what people want and that’s what we want. Smart people will make it happen,” said Lupe.
