Ryan Garcia joins tank Davis and Teofimo Lopez, wants to fight Lomachenko
Any view that Gervonta Davis or Teofimo Lopez is a threat to Ryan Garcia has been completely rejected by ‘KingRy’.
In fact, the 23-year-old reacted to the idea by blowing a raspberry after Elle Seckbach brought up the topic in a conversation a few days ago.
Garcia never lacks confidence and his most recent win, an impressive performance against Javier Fortunabrought a greater level of confidence.
Seckbach describes the battles against ‘Tank’ Davis and ‘Takeover’ Lopez as big and dangerous. Many will agree. Not Garcia, who after his rebuttal response said:
“That’s what I think about it. [They’re] dangerous for cash. Dangerous for those who don’t know how to fight. It’s not dangerous for me. “
“I patted their ass and took it straight to the bank. They can’t beat me. You’re looking at someone who has every tool in the book. They can literally do nothing.”
“They can’t change the dynamics of boxing. How do you stop speed, power, technique? They say, ‘You have a problem in defense’. What if I fix it? “
“You can try anything you want to try, I’ll take the lead.”
Garcia was replaying some highlights of his fight with Fortuna on his phone and was impressed by what he saw.
The Dominican, the former Featherweight champion, has never been a threat and certainly makes Garcia look great at times, but he’s had better days.
Tanks have fear
Fighting the Davis Tank had long been Garcia’s career ambition since the war was considered a possibility.
The two men are currently in separate weight classes with Davis working in lightweight and Garcia currently in ultralight. The new addition at 140lbs describes the ‘Normal’ WBA belt holder as a ‘fearful’ and a ‘coward’.
“He will not sign the contract because deep down he has fear. He knows what he sees. He’s not as stupid as he seems.”
Nothing much
A potential confrontation between Garcia and Tank is one of the things that causes the dollar signs to reverse the eyes of many participants. It sells anywhere in the US and will do a seven-figure pay-per-view purchase. To Garcia, that didn’t seem like a big deal.
“I will do everything in my power to make that fight bigger. But people think it’s grandiose stuff. For me, it’s just another fight. I beat him and went to fight Loma, that’s it. I don’t think about how big it is, I think it’s an easy fight.”
For Lopez, who has been promoted to Super Light, considered a viable option b if a Tank match is not possible, Garcia’s prediction for the outcome against the former Lightweight champion was brief. and right to the point.
“Teofimo, I beat him in five or six rounds. I stopped Teofimo harshly. I like him, but mercilessly.”
