There is no leadership ‘vacuum’

With her term as acting head of the United Nations ending on August 31 and a successor not being announced, Ms Bachelet insisted there would be “no leadership vacuum”.

She told journalists that about 50 candidates appear to have expressed interest in the job, adding that every effort is being made to appoint a new High Commissioner as soon as possible.
