Over the weekend, authorities later expelled Minusma’s human rights director for knowingly cooperating with Ms. Dicko. Authorities have claimed military achievements, but the total number of deaths from violence has increased between 2021 – when there were 1,913 deaths – and 2022, with 4,803 deaths.
