Russia’s ambassador to Britain has claimed Britain played a role in the attack on its warships – warning the country is “too deep” in the Ukraine war.

The British government has said such claims are false and designed to distract from Russia’s military failures in Ukraine.

Russia’s foreign ministry said it was concerned the five declared nuclear powers were lurking “on the brink of a direct armed conflict”.
It added: “We strongly believe that in the current complex and turbulent situation, caused by irresponsible and brazen actions aimed at undermining our national security, the task ahead above all to avoid any military clash of nuclear powers.”
