Two of the world’s top marathons will allow athletes to identify as non-binary when they enter races next year.

Organizers of the 2023 Boston Marathon and the 2023 TCS London Marathon say that riders will have the choice of entering the race as men, women, or non-binary – a term used by some people who feel they do not fit into the male or female gender categories.

There is a growing push for gender inclusion in sports globally, and a number of sports organizations have recently published policies on how transgender, non-binary and non-binary people. Other gender match can participate in the contest.
