Roy Jones Jr says Haney has to stop Kambosos because it’s hard to make a decision

Via Brian Webber: Roy Jones Jr says Devin Haney needs to put on George Kambosos Jr and stop him with a shot in the later rounds as he may not get a decision this Sunday in Australia.

Although Jones did not say that WBC lightweight champion Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) would be taken away by the referee in his match against Kambosos Jr. (20-0, 10 KOs) Australian-Australian in Melbourne, but it’s hard to explain it that way.

It won’t be easy for Haney to make the decision as Kambosos will have more than 50,000 fans in attendance at the Marvel Stadium battle near the palm of his hand on Sunday night, cheering for everything he does, even the things he misses.

Kambosos, 28, appears to have played the villain in the promotion of the war, sometimes appearing as a well-trained person method agent in a Marlon Brando mold.

About his credit card, Haney is not disturbed by games Kambosos is playing, looking a lot more confident and mature than his 23 years. Haney is an adult, and Kambosos is more of a kid, spoiled from the four belts he won against Teofimo Lopez last November.

Haney was well prepared and didn’t get caught up in the mind tricks Kambosos played on Teofimo last year.

Roy Jones Jr told Fight Hub TV: “Shows a lot of heart and a lot of character willing to go to Australia and achieve it. “It shows how badly he wants it, and I love that.

“Arriving in Australia, you have to find a way to stop the pressure. You have to knock him down and stop him with one shot. If you don’t stop him, it will be difficult to make a decision,” said Jones Jr.

Haney isn’t a big puncher, so it’s unlikely he’ll stop Kambosos in this fight. Hopefully the umpires don’t ruin the result by handing it to the wrong boxer.

Kambosos will fight as usual, attacking in waves, landing and moving quickly. He tries to land two or three shots and then rides his bike to avoid being hit. He will move around a lot if chased and then tied up. It’s ugly to look at, but it’s an effective style.

“I don’t focus on what I can’t control and get in there and do it with me,“Haney said to iFL TV about his war with Kambosos. “This has been my dream since I was a kid. I’ve been dreaming about this for a while.

If Haney wins by knockout or a decisive 12th round, the Kambosos will have the big decision on whether to use the rematch clause. In the end, Kambosos will do because the money will be too good for him.

Kambosos won’t be able to entice famous fighters like Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis or Ryan Garcia against him, so he’ll make a rematch with Haney, even if he loses one way.
