Roy Jones Jr breaks silence on Eubank corner and predicts match against Benn

Former four-weight world champion, Roy Jones Jr, has responded about not being Chris Eubank Jr’s coach of choice for his upcoming bout with Conor Benn.

Chris Eubank Jr, despite his father’s pleas, will fight Conor Benn next month in the 157 lbs. Given that the event was made and sold on the fact that the boxers father fought each other twice in the nineties, Eubank Jr decided to separate from his trainer Jones Jr to claim the old man his in the corner at night.

It turned out that Jones, three who battled deeply in a coach-warrior partnership with Eubank, fully supported the decision to leave Senior in the corner. He said FightHype that the choice to have both fathers involved was the correct choice to make.

“If it were me and he asked me what he should do, I would tell him… Your fathers are the reason the war happened, and having fathers there in the corner makes it. even bigger for everyone. So if I were a fan, I would definitely like to see Nigel in Conor’s corner and see Eubank Sr in Chris’ corner.”

“Why would I want to put my value on something bigger than that? Fathers are the reason the war is involved, so I’ll step back. “

“Without their father, this fight wouldn’t even be talked about right now, because one is welterweight and the other is middleweight.”

Having said all that, it’s unclear if eldest brother Eubank is interested in taking part, as he staunchly disagrees with the fight and weight reduction in particular.

Whatever was going on, and ‘RJ’ was confident his man would win if he kept going and heeded his advice.

“I think Eubank won the match no matter what, but there are some things he [will] What to do to ensure that he is always in control. Eubank is probably more experienced, bigger and better at fighting, so all my thoughts will be with Eubank.

But there are some things Conor can cause problems and I warned Chris about those so I think he’ll be fine. “

“Keep your head down, be careful, watch out for the big hook on the left—things like that.”

Eubank Jr faces Benn on October 8 in London – that is if he can reach the contracted weight.
