Row Over Kamal Nath Cutting Temple-Shaped Cake With Pic Of Lord Hanuman

Bhopal:

A cake has brought the Speaker of the National Assembly and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath into a political controversy. A video shows him cutting a four-tiered, temple-shaped cake, which has a saffron flag and an image of lord Hanuman on top.

Now, BJP minister and senior leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan has accused Kamal Nath of hurting feelings by cutting a cake with some religious symbols on it.

“He (Kamal Nath) and his group are Bagula Bhagat (false devotees) who have nothing to do with god. He represents the same party that once opposed the construction of Ram Temple. But when he realized that it was damaging them in terms of voting, he turned into a Hanuman Bhakt.Who can imagine a birthday cake with Lord Hanuman’s picture and cut the same cake like that? This is an insult to Sanatan Dharma and its followers,” he said.

Kamal Nath will turn 76 on Thursday, but his supporters and party workers celebrated his birthday ahead of time at his home in Chhindwara district, his council constituency on Tuesday.

Recently, ragi singer Manpreet Singh Kanpuri lashed out at event organizers Guru Nanak Jayanti at Indore’s Khalsa College for inviting Kamal Nath and honoring him. While raising the issue of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984, he vowed never to return to Indore again.
