Rolly Romero Says He Will Rematch Gervonta Davis

Via Allan Fox: Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero says he will have a rematch with ‘regular’ WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis after being knocked out in the sixth round on May 28.

Rolly (14-1, 12 KOs) didn’t say exactly when he would rematch Tank Davis, but the way he said it, it might be soon. I

For the boxing public, it’s hard to imagine Mayweather Promotion trying to sell the second fight between Tank and Rolly, but since they are focusing on indoor bouts with PBC fighters, they have little choice but to sell another one. Who would be willing to buy back that nonconformity?

Rolly calls herself a “pay-per-view star” after her battle with Tank, which was shown on Showtime PPV. We’ll soon see if Rolly is a PPV attraction as he’s an A-side against the not-so-famous as we’ve seen Tank Davis consistently do over the past few years.

With Rolly’s massive frame, it’s hard to imagine he could keep pushing past the 135 lb weight limit for much longer. He looks like a welder weight inside the ring with Tank Davis.

“You don’t see it from my point of view. I won, man. I’m the most marketable boxer in the sport and the best talker in the sport,” said Rolly Romero. social media about his loss to Gervonta Davis on May 28.

“Like I said, I will find Gervonta Davis again. I knew that. That will happen again. Honestly, I don’t know if that hit hurt or not because I didn’t feel it,” Rolly said of the direct hit Gervonta landed against him in the sixth round.

“I will fight again. The future is well lined up. My potential opponent in my next couple of matches is insane. I’ve had some great battles, the rights are very purchasable, filling a match in the arena. I know I can fill out MGM and I can fill out T-Mobile. I sold out of Barclays.

“I beat him and I was caught with a good shot. That’s boxing,” said Rolly. “It was because of a simple mistake I made in that I made a mistake and I will never make it again.

“So I won, I learned. I’m a pay-per-view star, and I did it faster than anyone else in boxing history. I took risks that other mothers wouldn’t take.

“I took risks that no other mom could take with the amount of experience I had. I had 35 amateur fights, and I started boxing at the age of 17. Now I have 15 professional fights. I haven’t fought anything but positive records since I was 5-0 down.

“I got a crazy resume. In the end, I will go down in history as one of the greatest warriors possible. People will want to watch me fight time and time again.
