Rodriguez trades equipment with Judge, promises to meet in the knockout round

Seattle Mariners Midfielder Julio Rodriguez was caught chatting with New York Yankees skater Aaron Judge before the two teams went head to head Wednesday afternoon. Topic? MLB post-season.

“J-Rod” was seen exchanging an autographed jersey for a signed bat with Judge on the diamond at T-Mobile Park. After posing for a photo together, the two are said to continue chatting, and Rodriguez made it clear that he wants to take on Judge and the Bronx Bombers in October.

Rookies have every right to keep an eye on the game after the season. Seattle currently sits at the top of the American League and will most likely face New York, who are currently tied with the Houston Astros in the AL.

Of course, the Mariners want Rodriguez back in the lineup before anything happens. The phenom rookie has been sidelined since July 30 when he was hit by a 97 mph ball from Astros pitcher Rafael Montero. Rodriguez was off for a tee shot over the weekend, but the team is more cautious about bringing him back – especially with a post-season stop on the road.

“The grip power and what he has there is really good,” manager Scott Servais said Monday, via Seattle Times. “It’s very comparable to what he has when he’s normal. So that’s all positive. But he still feels a bit of a vibration on the stick when he holds his normal cane in his hand. .”
