Robeisy Ramirez vs Isaac Dogboe April 1 on ESPN+

Via Knitting Ambrosio: Robeisy Ramirez will face Isaac Dogboe on April 1 on ESPN+, possibly for a vacant or temporary WBO featherweight title in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mike Coppinger reports on the fight between Robeisy Ramirez and Isaac Dogboe on April 1st.

Robeisy has looked impressive lately, stopping his last three opponents, Jose Matias Romero, Abraham Nova and Eric Donovan. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy gets better and better with each match and is possibly the best boxer in the current tournament.

126 lb WBO belt held by Emanuel Navarretewho is going up to 130th to fight for the vacant WBO super featherweight title on February 3 against Liam Wilson.

It’s probably a good thing for Dogboe (24-2, 16 KOs) as Navarrete is gaining weight because he’s already lost to him twice, and the last thing he needs is a third defeat against the hardcore Mexican, who has his number.

Of course, this is neither here nor there as the #1 WBO ranked Dogboe takes on the 3rd Robeisy (11-1, 7 KOs) for an interim or vacant 126 lb WBO belt on April 1st. .

Although Robeisy is 29 years older than Dogboe by 28 years, he is the newer of the two and is fighting at a higher level.

In theory, Dogboe lacked the defense and strength to win this fight against the talented two-time Olympic gold medalist Cuban Robeisy.

We’ll probably see Dogboe as easily handled by Romero as Navarrete did with the Ghanaian in his two wins in 2018 & 2019.

Robeisy has been looking sharp since a stunning loss in his first game to Adan Gonzales by split decision in August 2019.

Since that match, Robeisy has been fighting with more urgency from the start and has won the last 11 matches. He avenged the loss to Gonzales in 2016, winning the six-round decisive one-way draw.

If the two were to fight now, it would be fair to say that Robeisy would have defeated Gonzales with ease, as he had improved over the past three years and was fighting on a different level than when the two were fighting.

Dogboe has won its last four games, beating Chris Avalos, Joet Gonzalez, Adam Lopez and Christopher Diaz. He’s been looking good since his back-to-back loss to Navarrete, but he’s up against a very good fighter in Robeisy who’s shooting with all eight towers and looks invincible.

Mike Coppinger said: “Robeisy Ramirez and Isaac Dogboe will meet in a featherweight title match on April 1 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. GAME.

“Top boxing on the ESPN+ main event is expected to be contested for the vacant WBO featherweight belt or provisional belt.”
