Talk to the official broadcaster before the third and final ODI against New Zealand In Christchurch on Wednesday, trousers says his white-shadow numbers are “not so bad”.
Pant only scored a fifty point in the shortest format last February West Indieswhile having only crossed the 30-time mark in the 21 plays he played in 2022.
In the ODIs, Pant has scored two points fifty and one hundred in the nine innings he has played this year.
“…the record is just a number. My white-ball numbers aren’t that bad,” Pant said.
Pant, who has been experimenting for centuries in England, Australia and South Africasays he doesn’t believe in comparisons at this point in his career.
“Comparing doesn’t make sense now, I’m 24-25 years old. If you want to compare, you can do it when I’m 30-32. Before, comparison didn’t make sense to me. ,” an obviously offended Pant said.
Pant, vice-captain of the ongoing series, suffered another setback, scoring just 10 points in the third ODI on Wednesday.
When asked about his preferred batting position in overbound cricket, Pant said: “I would choose to open in the T20Is, 4-5 in the ODI and in the Test I hit the ball in 5th place. Yes, the game plan changes when you hit the ball down the order but at the same time you have to hit the ball where the team wants you No need to precalculate in ODI, only in T20s you need to precalculate .”
