12th seed Richmond Spider broke many marks on Thursday when they had a nasty 67-63 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes, the fifth seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Richmond finished the regular season 19-12 and earned just one spot in the league having won four straight games in the Atlantic-10 Tournament last week as the sixth seed. Spider-Man brought that momentum into the NCAA Tournament where they made 42.1% of the goals on the field compared to the Hawkeyes’ 36.4%.
