Richardson Hitchins Inks With Matchroom

Via Adam Baskin: Matchroom Boxing brought 2016 track athlete Richardson Hitchins (14-0.6 KOs) into a three-way deal. The 25-year-old Hitchins competes in the lightweight division, and he remains a prospect at this stage of his five-year professional career.

Hitchins still hasn’t had its first real test at 140, so it’s hard to know what will happen. Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn is counting on Hitchins, which turns out to be gold. Therefore, he signed a three-fight advertising contract with him, believing that he would find success.

Hopefully Matchroom will have a better job with Hitchins than his previous promoters at Mayweather Promotions, who failed to beat him to any of the top contenders or champions. any in the 140 lb class. Hitchins has been a pro for five years, but he is still not in a position to succeed.

“I’m taking over the 140-pound division. I feel like none of these people are my equal,” Hitchins told YSM Sports Media. “There’s really no one at 140 that’s too big of a threat.

“You have some good people there. The people they are promoting like Teofimo. They’re not really good fighters for me. They’re great. I feel like the unsung guys are a threat. “

Matchroom will announce the recent 25-year-old Hitchins’ world title fight tomorrow. It will be interesting to know that Hitchins will fight for the belt. It will be fun to see how Hitchins goes up against the likes of Subriel Matias, Regis Prograis, Jose Zepeda or Jose Ramirez.

Those guys have a lot of their punches, and Hitchins will need to use his boxing skills for him to have a hit against them.

Hitchins recently won against these boxers:

  • Angel Sarinana Rodriguez – TKO 4
  • Malik Hawkins – 10 USD
  • Argenis Mendez – SD 10
  • Nicholas Delomba – 10 USD

Hitchins’ decision to split the 10th round against Argenis Mendez (25-7-3, 12 KOs) was a bit of a hassle as he was defeated by Luke Campbell and Robert Easter in 2016. For Hitchins struggled to get through. beat Mendez, which is a little disturbing. Of course, that war was two years ago.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity to join the stables,” says Hitchins. “I believe I’m the best 140-pound athlete in the world, and Eddie will give me the chance to prove it.”
