Hello gentle readers and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up on November 23, 2022. In today’s post we have another review from our friend Mikhail (man) he was seriously speeding this week) before starting a few new releases for the day. After summarizing those, we’ve got the new sales listing and the sale of the day. I know, you wouldn’t think there would be many other things that could be sold, but life always has a way. Let’s get to work together!

Reviews & Mini Views

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator ($19.99)

Totally accurate battle simulator is one of those games that is mostly ignored by game enthusiasts and publications. I’ve owned it on Steam for a while and just decided to try it out when it was announced for the Nintendo Switch to see what I’d be playing when it hits the eShop. The new Nintendo Switch port gave me a good reason to test it out on both the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch ahead of the upcoming mobile release to see if this popular physics-based sandbox emulation experience is fun. on Switch or not with various changes made to suit the platform.

In many cases, developers will just port their existing games to the Switch without making platform-specific gameplay tweaks, resulting in poor performance or visuals. Ideally, every Switch port would deliver a complete experience, but that’s not possible in some cases like Totally accurate battle simulator highlighted in the blog post linked above. I’m looking forward to seeing if the team can bring back some of the cut content in the future. In its current state, it still has a lot of modes thrown in that I wouldn’t expect to make it through.

Immediately, Totally accurate battle simulator is the game I would recommend on PC via Switch if you have that option. In its current state, it’s a bit lacking on the Switch. I’ve had a lot of fun with it for the past two weeks, but it feels like an earlier access launch than the PC version. I’m surprised how well it performs in some cases on the Switch with good visuals, but it still needs some extra work to be an easy recommendation. -Mikhail Madnani

New release

Just Dance 2023 Edition ($59.99)

Three things are inevitable in life: death, taxes and just dance. The newest one seems to be trying out a new DLC-focused model, but I’ll pretend it’s just working as it should. That means the package includes 2023 DLC, gives you forty tracks to dance to. It includes tunes by BTS, Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Glass Animals, etc. At least the new model allows you to try before you buy, although I imagine most of us have decided to go for Just Dance. ages ago long ago.

Cleopatra Fortune S-Tribute ($14.99)

Another simulated SEGA Saturn game from City Connection, this time Taito’s console port for its unique falling block puzzle game Queen Cleopatra. You can play in Arcade Mode which is more or less just a video game or Mystery Mode where you complete stages and follow a story. I… don’t believe the story is in English, but I guess we’ll see. This emulator has seen some improvements since it was used for Cotton game and you can take advantage of all the extras like rewind and quick save.

Dead Station ($4.99)

A rather bland side-scroller tells the story of an astronaut exploring a space station that seems to be in trouble. It’s affordable, I guess. It appears to be available on Android, so if you have an Android device you can try it out for free and see how you like it.

The sale

(North American eShop, US price)

So yes, a few sales to consider. I would say that the most interesting things here are the first sale after the release on the exciting platform CARL and first sale of any kind on Disney’s Dream Valley of Light. Not too fussy in the outbox, but take a look at it anyway and see how it appeals to you.
