History

Pre-orders for the Lexus ES Mk7 opened on October 1, 2018. The ES’ 2.5-litre petrol engine is chain-driven so there’s no tether to replace. Recall

Lexus has recalled the ES three times. The first was in May 2019, as 1,201 cars manufactured between October 2018 and March 2019 left the factory with faulty e-call software. The issue has been fixed with a software update and also affects UX SUV car.

The second recall was issued in November 2019. This time around, the campaign affected 228 cars, including examples of UX and LS. Some of these built in May 2019 were equipped with a faulty brake servo; The remedy is to replace it with a new unit.

The most recent recall occurred in October 2020 and affects most Lexus models. In total, 6,787 cars manufactured between October 2017 and December 2018 were fitted with a faulty fuel pump, which resulted in the engine stalling or not starting – a new pump has been fixed. .
