Now that spring has arrived, my desire to shop has increased tenfold. I’ve made an alarming number of trips to the mall and have added to my cart virtually more than I probably should admit. But one consistent point that I’ve noticed in my many recent flings is that I’m very drawn to linen in all its forms: pants, bags, skirts, you might say. I recently added Old Navy’s almost sold out now Linen-Blend Pointy-Toe Mule Flats ($22, originally $25), which I expect will be one of my must-have shoes this spring. But now I have a new obsession: the brand of High-waisted Linen-Blend wide-leg pants ($12, originally $40), which I currently have as I enter this.
I ordered a medium size with a green color called arugula. Naturally, I reached for them minutes after they arrived in my apartment and immediately knew they were going to become a staple in my spring-summer wardrobe. Why? They’re soft, breathable, and subtly oversized like pajama pants, but they look classy, like the one you picked up at a beachfront boutique while on vacation. High-rise, elastic waistband has an adjustable drawstring inside so you can tie it to your fullest comfort, be it a tight fit at the waist or loose and loose – I chose this before.
These pants are great to complete a casual look this season, but personally I think they’re even better for traveling and I fully intend to pack them for all weather trips. warm that I make in the near future. Hear me out: You can’t picture them with a cream knit tank, sandals and a raffia clutch? You can even purchase a second pair specifically for the beach to act as a stylish decoration. Call me obsessive, but I could name so many more ways to style them, if given the chance – the opportunities are endless.
I’m not surprised to reveal that other Old Navy shoppers love these linen pants, too. They have over 200 five-star reviews and a near perfect rating overall. “Perfect for a ‘no hard pants’ day!” wrote one shopper. Another read my mind, writing, “Wish there was more color.” I affirm, I will also add them to my cart in black, but oh my god, cream or rusty orange won’t so good?
