“I just love that she tells me what she thinks and what she feels and how she feels when she’s reading a book.

“Being able to read it to her would be great, and I wanted to read to children in rural areas that was something I really wanted to do.”

The second book project, a memoir about Barty’s life and sporting journey, will be released by the same publisher in November.

Barty said: “At 25 it doesn’t happen often but it’s a very interesting project.

“Looking back and talking about it has brought me a lot of joy, as well as heartache and pain, but I think it would have been a very good book.”

“I’m very happy – I don’t need any reassurance but I still feel reassured that I made the right decision,” she said.
